Board Member Roles / Responsibilities

President

• Confirm speakers for SCSCA meetings (with board help) 

• Confirm meeting dates with colleges/ RSVP for # attending each meeting

• Welcome to meetings

• Set dates for board meetings (5 or 6 a year)

• Order Award Plaques (counselor of the year and counselor support)

President- Elect

• Assist President with planning

• Print certificates for meetings

• Participate in board meetings

• Print sign in sheet 

Treasurer

• Manage Bank Account

• Take care of invoices

• Deposit membership checks

• Reimbursements for purchases

• Issue receipts

• Write checks for scholarships

• Participate in planning and board meetings

• Tax info 

Corresponding Secretary 

• Send out notifications to members via email

• Create Google RSVP for meetings- send to members

• Print sign in sheet and bring to meetings

• Send reminders about meetings and include details like directions, etc.

• Participate in planning and board meetings

Membership Secretary 

• Create Google membership sign up form

• Membership checks are mailed to you and paid members are recorded on the spreadsheet.

• Collect dues at first 2 meetings (late charge for paying after 2nd meeting)-prices on website!

• Send reminders to those needing to pay

• Give cash and checks to Treasurer to deposit

• Create membership directory for corresponding secretary to send out

• Participate in planning and board meetings

Social Media Manager

• Manage Website/Social Media Page

  • Update new board members

  • Update meeting dates and topics

  • Load resources from meetings

  • Keep current happenings/recognitions up to date
