John Smith and Martha Cook created and organized the Stark County School Counselors Association during the years of 1962 and 1963.
John was elected president at the first meeting which was held at Canton South High School in 1963. There were six counselors in attendance. Today, we've grown to an association of more than 150 members!!
We welcome you to join our organization and help continue our important contributions to the field of school counseling and Stark County's local students.
Stark County School Counselors' Association serves local School Counselors grades K-12. School Counselors, retired School Counselors, and students pursuing a degree in school counseling can join for a minimal cost. Five meetings are held each year, lunch and guest speakers share information about relevant issues in the field of counseling. We offer scholarships to high school students and college students alike.
We encourage members of SCSCA to consider joining other relevant organizations in Ohio.
